The Famous Mayo Clinic Hospital
A few years ago was the first time I’ve ever heard about the Mayo Clinic Hospital. Walking past the Mayo Clinic Hospital was part of the tour when I was learning more about the University of Rochester for attending school there. The structure of this hospital set me with an impression of how valuable and comfortable it eludes for any patient’s stay during their tragic time in life. I’ve also learned there are many programs held at the Mayo Clinic Hospital where individuals can grow their education knowledge based materials from. Another thing about the hospital is that it has been recognized for outstanding physicians that are well trusted and educated to demonstrate through various fatal accounted procedures that morally has been completed successfully. In addition, About the Mayo Clinic has indicated, “U.S News & World Report ranked Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minn. is known to be the best hospital in the nation in their 2016-2017 rankings. This hospital has also won leadership awards and Magnet Recognition awards for the quality of patient care, nursing excellence, and innovative in professional nursing practice.” The Mayo Clinic Hospital truly fits the quality of my standards with a welcoming spirit of where I would choose to pursue my career.
There were many things I remembered that our tour-guide had empathized about the Mayo Clinic Hospital. This hospital obtains a huge campus involved with many different buildings and departments all attached in one. It almost didn’t feel like a hospital to me during my tour. The Mayo Clinic Hospital felt as if I was walking around a huge professional hotel deal that I hardly felt that I was even in a hospital. All the employees had such great hospitality with welcoming you and assisting with the direction you needed to go. There are excessive amounts of chairs laying around the building everywhere you turn so no one has to be worried about being on their feet at all times. On the main level there was a resource center that talks all about different types of cancer and preventions that anyone is welcome to be a part of. There is a place on the lower level that contains tall glass windows that views out the beautiful outside scenery. Also, a piano that is open for anyone to play to lighten up the mood in the facility. There is an international center in the building for people who doesn't have English as their first language and who will help guide you to visit at the facility. One last thing that is common at the Mayo is that during your appointments you will receive a pager that will keep with you at all times. This will go off when the clinical assistant is ready to take you and verify who you are privately, instead of trying to identify you by yelling across the big room with your name being said. Another time when your pager will go off is when the scheduler will confirm for your next appointments and to meet back up at the front desk of the department to receive your paper work. There are so many more interesting sites of building that are very unique as well that you wouldn’t see in typical hospital settings. This feeling in this hospital helps establishes your trusted and comfort need of when you arrive.
There are more than 3,300 physicians scientists and researchers from Mayo Clinic that would like to share their expertise to empower all patients for their given service. Every physician listed on Mayo Clinic website has an overview listed in with their specialized department. This overview includes their biographical history, types of educations they went through, conditions that they have treated, awards nominated, along with years of experience. Another intriguing thing that is included about each physician displays regards to themselves initiated in some news articles that tries to convey the community of a significant action taken that was collaborated with a certain physician. A physician I have came across is named, Robert D. Brown. He is a neurologist that specializes in stroke and cerebrovascular disease. Robert has treated carotid artery disease, stroke, brain aneurysm, and many more. He has received his degree in 1994 from the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. The last news reported that Robert was in, indicated a rundown of stroke symptoms that be beneficial for our society to be aware of these signs and seek medical attention (Robert D. Brown). This organizational research helps individuals who are looking for the best physician candidate to accompany them with the best distributed procedures that will produce a life changing experience.
There are an excessive large amount of educational offerings for students who would like to be prepared and rewarded through these careers demonstrated in the medical field. With the programs offered, there are descriptions listed for what the class is about. Includes a goal for what to gain from after taking the program. As well the typical class environment schedule and size amount of students. Every applicant is required to go through an application process and completed admissions prerequisites in order to move forward through the program. One of the programs I’ve searched about was called the Nurse-Midwifery Clinical Rotations Program. The program overview describes what a student would observe and experience of the delivery of patient care in a collaborative environment. In order to participate in the program, it is a requirement to be licensed in Minnesota of a registered nurse and enrolled in a master’s or doctorate-level program. The program is only limited to two nurse-midwifery students at a time to receive a comprehensive education experience close with a one-on-one. These clinical days includes eight to twelve hours a day shift in the labor and delivery unit. When both the nurse-midwifery course work and master’s or doctorate-level degree is completed, then it is eligible to take the national certifying exam offered by the American Midwifery Certification Board (Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences). Being a nurse-midwifery has been one of my ultimate decisions I would like to be apart of in my career.
The satisfaction for Mayo Clinic Hospital reflects an importance of quality contributed to every single patient needs with the structure of the well orientated physicians accompanied by each patient side and the environment display with the patients stay. A hospital like this does respect everyones self-determinism and the comfort level with your stay there. It isn’t all about just your visits with the physicians, there are so many opportunities to enhance your studies with your concerns from these professionals that has provided more information through the resource center. With great recognizable team work and helpful connections you can receive around you for support, a place like Mayo Clinic Hospital motivates you to be part of that community. I want to pursue my dream by becoming part of the Mayo Clinic Hospital society and inspire hope, also contribute to healthy well-being by providing the best care to every patient with the recognition of a successful nurse.
